Your Right to Sing

Explore what it means to claim your singing voice in the world. Learn how to overcome the limitations and blocks that even a seemingly small, off-colored comment during childhood can have on your relationship to your singing voice. Join in interactive singing games to reconnect to a euphoric sense of childhood freedom that singing can unveil.

Embrace the idea that EVERYONE can sing. Everyone has a right to sing. Singing is an essential part of who we are, how we express ourselves, and a tool to help us evolve into our fullest self.

The power of one’s voice should never be measured by the perfection of the sound, so much as the depth of expression. Prepare to sing with all of your heart, and never look back!

Chantel Mead has been creating joyful and inspired experiences for youth in the Vocal Arts for over 15 years. With a BFA in Musical Theater and graduate work in Vocal Pedagogy, Chantel uses the performing arts as a vehicle for self-empowerment and community building in all areas of her teaching.

She has worn many hats through the years, from children’s choir director in various churches, to general music teacher in private schools in NYC and Austin, to directing musicals and show choirs, to teaching voice in her private home studio.

She is now the Founder and Artistic Director of the Global Voice Collective, an organization committed to the culmination of her dreams and passions as a teacher: to use the singing voice as a tool for self-empowerment, global community building, and social action aimed at a more unified, joyful world!

Chantel is deeply aligned with the mission of New Thought Forum and says, “We can use joy – and singing – to transform lives and empower a more interconnected, uplifting and inspired world.”

So SING! Claim YOUR voice. Today and together. And sing with all of your heart! It can change and empower not only you – but the entire world!
